Event Description

To mark the UK release of FAST & FURIOUS Universal Studios is hosting the first ever UK ‘Beat The Heat’ that gives young people the opportunity to race the police. Beat The Heat is an educational programme already running in 33 US states and in Canada, Puerto Rico and Australia.

Texas Police Officer and President of Beat The Heat, Lt Tom Brown, is flying to the UK to demonstrate his driving skills against British racers at Santa Pod Raceway in a high-speed, competitive, drag race meeting when the fuzz meets the furious on the track for the first time.

You will be able to capture the cars, the races, and the participants as UK petrol-heads pit their wits against each other and the police. We are also planning to have British police taking part in the ultimate British/American police head to head.

Lt Tom Brown will be available for media interviews, talking about the success the programme has had in the US, and also advising how and why we should introduce a similar programme here; making British roads safer – taking racing off the streets and onto the track – with the ultimate thrill of racing against the police.

FAST & FURIOUS took over £13.5m at the UK box office and zoomed to the no. 1 spot – making it twice as big as any of the Fast & Furious franchise to date!

Fast & Furious is released on Blu-ray & DVD September 21.

Great day, I managed a 14.4, which was better than I was expecting, not bad for a lil 4 pot Golf!

Guys, it was an awesome day. I got 10 runs in in the little Midget setting PB after PB. Ending up with a 16.4590. Not bad for a little 1275cc BMC 1950s designed 4 pot eh?
More, Santa Pod, more!

Absolutely FANTASTIC day - almost equaled my PB with a 14.6. Few issues with backfires but hey.

Well done on organising such a great day!

Fireball’s Alphabet of Awesomeness… The D’s

I like the letter “D.” Maybe it’s because it reminds me of math class? Or the conversation I had with my counselor about the fact that if I don’t stop showing up at high school football games with a liter or gin hidden in my coat, I’ll end up getting “all D.” But hey. There are [...]

LOSERS Movie Trailer…

Serious coolness.

Fast and Furious FIVE gets greenlit…

Universal is on the move again with “FAST FIVE.” They’ve inked deals with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, director Justin Lin, screenwriter Chris Morgan (Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Wanted), and producer Neal Moritz to smack the pedal to the plastic and lay the cool car smackdown. This time, it will follow Dom and Brian as [...]

Fireball’s Alphabet of Awesomeness… The C’s

C…. Stands for cool. Or maybe crunchie. But seeing as how this is about cars, crunchie makes no sense whatsoever. Cool, eh? See how I just whipped that out? Cars. Cartomobiles. Ooo. That’s a word. You ever wonder how car companies come up with their names? Like Continental? Corniche? Cordoba? Wait. I’ve got one. … Cooltinental. And [...]
