Sunday came around, the day of rest, and the sun was shining, I'd pretty much recovered from my Gatebil Trip (blogs to follow soon) so it was the perfect opportunity to grab the cameras and head out to a meet!
The meet we made tracks for was StanceWorks UK meet @ the Gaydon Heritage Motor Centre
"Stance" the automotive community has a love it or hate it relationship with this form of styling.
Opinions usually vary based on the fact that a car is to be driven, and well being super low, as cool as it looks (and it does look cool!) means you can't always go everywhere (thanks speed bumps) and you can't go all that fast without some serious scraping and ability to swap out a sump at the side of road.
A picture speaks a thousand words, so thanks to one of the owners in this scene I can help illustrate what "Stance" is...
As you can see from that picture, the result is that your amazeballs low.
We headed to the meeting point at Beaconsfield services about midday, the collection of cars there was already impressive. Upon setting off on the M40 I took the opportunity to snap some rolling shots of the cars in the convoy.
Once we arrived the quality and mixture of cars that had turned up already was fantastic.
This scene brings cars together from all makes and manufacturers, its brilliant to see it all get mixed up under one roof, just like the car scene should be!
The friendly atmosphere was apparent from the get go, something that never surprises me at car meets but its always a pleasure to see as people from all walks of life have that one thing in common... their passion for the car scene :)
I had a wander around and I've tried to share with you here some of the highlight cars of the meet for me. Many more shots can be seen via the flickr link at the bottom of this post however ;)
The rain came & went without too much disturbance to the meet, and once the sun was out again people were still seen to be arriving.
I really enjoyed this meet and its great to see the 'Stance' styling grow in strength over here in the UK, I look forward to the next one!
Thanks for looking!
