My R33 is now getting close to being finished, Easter bank holiday 2011 is when i gutted the old car after 3 years of drifting it, and it taking 2 hard hits, in the early part of 2011. 1 in the driverside rear quarter and the other in the passenger door.
I reshelled theree the car, but got a bit lost on the way, not doing things the easy way lol.
MGT racing had a very nice R33 gtr shell to offer, so i thought why not, i knew it would not be straight forward, as there would be lots of modifiying to be done to get things to fit.
First thing was to total strip it and get it sprayed, Team Asbo colour, GREEN the my wife said we need to add in the purple to the bonet roof and boot for 2012 new look,
The inside of the car was sprayed in purple and the outside green, but from when i picked the shell up and dropped it of a the painters over 4 months had gone by, I was not happy.
My wife built all the rear GTST subframe up with solid bushes and with some choice words fitted it up.
Engine had GTR enginge mounts, 1.2mm headgasket, top fed injectors, fuel rail, sard fuel regulator, trust top mount manifold, TD06 turbo, wastegate, screamer pipe, apexi air filter, + some other bits
Front end has 33GTR subframe, power steering rack, GTR hubs, clutch servo, new race radiator, chassis brace bar, moddified gearbox mountings, GTR power steering rack, and pipe work, modified wiring to suit
The fmic was fitted 2 weeks ago with pipe work being moddified.
31 march. power steering hose fitted and some mind numbing wiring, need to weld up the wastegate brackets and screamer pipe.
Doors, bonnet, boot, spolier being sprayed this week, with side skirts, also hopefully trial fit dash and gauges Saturday.
Still have lots of things to get this done, but not to far of now,
Big thanks to MGT Racing, for all the parts, Corys Car Repairs,The mad scientist Gavin, The rest of TEAM ASBO lads for all the help
and the wife, lucky she has her own skylines aswell so understands lol.
Saturday 7/4/12 another day in the garage, all hose clamps changed over for heavy duty ones, Dash panel made up and four clocks fitted, twin fans trial fitted, braided clutch line installed, vac hoses fitted.need to replace fuel lines with braided hose. Screamer pipe modifiction need to enter exhaust, or do i run it out of the wing?????
