After buying this back in end of Feburary this year, it went straight into paint shop, although it didnt need painting as bodywork was very very tidy, but wife wanted color change. When we got it back 2 weeks later, we put new ignition barrel in as it had been broken and cowling.
Rear windows all tinted, nice sport exhaust, We then decide, although it was going to be our daily we would look for bodykit, 5 stud conversion, replace the clutch, and needs a updated interior, still on the look out for something for this, these are things still to do.
My wife had still not had the log book back, this now being first week of April, so a quick call to DVLA to chase them up and we were told we would have it by 25th April, we decide to wait before anything else was done on the car.
27th April a call to DVLA again, still chasing it!!!!
23rd May call to DVLA again, now we find out previous owner has said he still has the car on his drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and they are now handing over to the police.
We had brought the car from a local garage, who said they would send the log book on, Which i had made them write on the reciept, lucky.
A vist from the police investigation unit, taking photos of the chassis number quick look round the car and of they went.
1 Hour later phone call from the police, blown up on the computer looks like another number behind the oringal,
I new this could not be as i had spent ages checkin this car out before we got it, and if it was, it one of the best clones ever, not even a scratch mark from grinder or sand paper any where on the bulk head or panels.
Police returned and I took out all the front suttle panel, got thinners and took all paint off from around the number, more photos taken, underneth the car all inspected, 4 hours later off they went happy we had the geniune car.
Monday 18th June, call from local garage that they have the log book, how strange, anyway collected log book and have sent it off.
Just need to wait for it to arrive back with my wifes name on it then we can finish it off, should have it on the road for 1st July.
