Pure Carma Present: "King Of The Ring" @ Arena Essex - 16.6.12

Saturday night saw the second round of the "King Of The Ring" events of 2012!

A few of us from the Fueltopia staff team headed down to give you all a proper look at the action that takes place during these events held in deep dark essex ;)

After some bad directions from me which took us over Dartford Bridge... (sorry paps) we arrived at Essex Arena where the action had already kicked off! 

First impressions was the crowd is getting bigger, these events are rightly so growing in popularity from round to round! 

After a couple of minutes of watching from the sidelines, it was obvious that the level of driving had also massively improved!

I witnessed hardly any contact between drivers giving it all a much more polished feel as they navigated their way around the oval track.

Having taken the atmosphere in, I moved to the middle of the track & set to work. The variety of cars made it very interesting to watch & shoot from my point of view. 

The evening went on with lots of action and fierce competition among the drivers competing for this rounds title. To break up the competitive action there were several Drift Taxi sessions where you could go out with some of the BDC level drivers that were there showing off their skills on the unforgiving oval track. 

As the sun set and the flood lights lit up the track, there was no stopping the action.

Night drifting is something I love to watch and this was no exception, the Drift taxi rides late in the evening provided tonnes of excitement as several of the drivers came round the sweeping bends tightly nestled to each others doors. 

The competitors were soon whittled down to the top 16 and then on to the final. 

The King of The Ring events are raw, & that to me is there appeal! They provide entertainment and competition and are attracting more and more people at each round.

Its ok, its only Essex, it won't bite ;)
