Real Cars. Real Drivers, Real Performance

Right, now as ive collected all the bodypanels i need to do the conversion to ze beemer i thought id get started working on the panels:

With thefront bumper i had to cut out infills from other bumpers and plastic weld and smooth over the front sensor holes (im too good a driver you see to need them :p haha)

Then i smoothed and sanded back any damaged or scratched areas (all the panels are second hand you see)

I then moved on to the rear bumper, this was a bit kinked as it looked like someone had driven in to it (was sold under the pretext was mint - nope) so i had to put a bit of heat in to it to get the shape back then a bit of filler to get it perfect :)

The bonnet is a bit of a pain, it was basically perfect bar the big sod of dent received in posting . . . . cheers courier company! not only do they deliver it to the wrong address they dent the bugger too.

It will come out with some persuasion from Tom and a hammer though :)

Also prepped the wings, one hada cracked mount and the other had a decent scratch running down it but both are good now :)

All that is left to do is to shorten the side skirts by 1cm (bmw make them longer on the M's to make the conversion harder) and taper in the rear bumper as my rear arches will only be pulled and rolled not full on flared like thetrue M3.

Then it comes down to me deciding what to do with the exhaust style.  i dont think i want to go with 4 pipes then it looks like im trying too hard, i may stick with twin exits just go titanium burnt tips or something like that. . . . . comments?

I just cant wait to get my wheels on finally :) :)

We had our 335 petrol done recently at BMW specialists Autobarn in Northampton. They did a great job and specialise in diesels for remapping the owner Paul said.

It was done up north matey with the previous owner on a dyno dynamics dyno.

I'm tempted to have the Dpf removed a bit later on so may have it remapped then too

im loving that torque figure, where did u get it mapped and dyno'd?

Comment by Chris Garner on April 2, 2012 at 10:19am
It's been remapped to 330hp and 560ish lbft of torque. Dyno graph says 386hp but I don't believe it. Lol
I will be leaving it as that as its my daily and I have a 500hp plus civic track car build going on :)
Is more than enough for the road
