Right, now as ive collected all the bodypanels i need to do the conversion to ze beemer i thought id get started working on the panels:
With thefront bumper i had to cut out infills from other bumpers and plastic weld and smooth over the front sensor holes (im too good a driver you see to need them :p haha)
Then i smoothed and sanded back any damaged or scratched areas (all the panels are second hand you see)
I then moved on to the rear bumper, this was a bit kinked as it looked like someone had driven in to it (was sold under the pretext was mint - nope) so i had to put a bit of heat in to it to get the shape back then a bit of filler to get it perfect :)
The bonnet is a bit of a pain, it was basically perfect bar the big sod of dent received in posting . . . . cheers courier company! not only do they deliver it to the wrong address they dent the bugger too.
It will come out with some persuasion from Tom and a hammer though :)
Also prepped the wings, one hada cracked mount and the other had a decent scratch running down it but both are good now :)
All that is left to do is to shorten the side skirts by 1cm (bmw make them longer on the M's to make the conversion harder) and taper in the rear bumper as my rear arches will only be pulled and rolled not full on flared like thetrue M3.
Then it comes down to me deciding what to do with the exhaust style. i dont think i want to go with 4 pipes then it looks like im trying too hard, i may stick with twin exits just go titanium burnt tips or something like that. . . . . comments?
I just cant wait to get my wheels on finally :) :)
