We are frequently telling you that GAZ quite often make dampers to order for classic cars - some quite old, rare or obscure, but this one must be one of the most obscure.
They were recently asked to make adjustable dampers for a Reliant Ant. If you are struggling to recall what that is, it’s a glass-fibre cabbed three wheeled truck that Reliant put out in the mid Seventies when the previous fuel crisis was at its height.
This strange contraption would look more at home on the streets on Mumbai, but with fuel costs as they are, perhaps it might see a new lease of life - and if it does GAZ can provide adjustable dampers for it!
Like all GAZ GP dampers they are suitable for the road, or track and classic racing use - if you happen to be that crazy. More realistically they can be adjusted for when the truck is empty or fully laden.
They also feature height adjustable spring platforms so that the centre of gravity can be lowered to improve stability, or returned to standard for an original look at classic shows. GAZ dampers also feature a zinc plated body to protect the dampers so they’ll keep their concourse looks and keep working well for long into the future.
As usual the dampers units are individually tested before leaving the factory and are covered by a 2 year warranty.
The GAZ GP dampers for the Reliant Ant retail at £80.28 each plus VAT.
