Well how do I Start apart from what a Epic Weekend and a roller coaster it was.... Forge pulled out all the stops and made for whats one of the years Best shows by far. So Big up to the Forge Team.
Friday the car was rebuilt and the car was not finished until 4am in the Morning before we made the trip to Combe.
The car was running sweet and we had high hopes for the following rounds but then we went from running fast to Fire and well the rest is history.
1 wheel up then 2 up
This was to be its final of the day with a Big bang bottom end come up through the Bonnet and a big fire Developed in the Car... Top Marks to Bennets Racing lad in car, We managed to get the car to a run off area and set the Fire ext off. This was all good.... It took the Fire marshels 5mins to get to us and the first thing they did was open the bonnet!!!! WTF this then started the fire again. They then decided to fill my 4k Turbo that was not on fire with Foam and powder, along with my windscreen and car wings. We just sat there and watched in amazement, as these clowns fucked the car even more.. until we pointed out what was happening.
2 weeks to go and next round of Time Attack we will be there. Any help and support would be great from all love Team Eurospec.. PS why do we have to comply to all these FIA rules if the Marshals cant carry out there job

Comment by Daniel Fegent on September 11, 2012 at 4:18pm wow ok well fairplay for dealing with it how you did guys, very impressed. Your completely right though, calm and collected and shows how you two are true motorsport heroes :D I'd have panicked and done the team america secret signal (arms waving around like a mad man) ;) hehe.
Yeah I was gutted to see this, love that car :(
Comment by bennettracing.co.uk on September 11, 2012 at 4:04pm Dan, flame flashed inside too, no burns though, just smoke inside, but we were that casual about it that as it was coming to a stop, we were like,
'well suppose we had better get out then' haha
No point getting in a hissy in this type of situation otherwise you get caught up getting out
I was gutted for Chris, was loving the drive round and it only went bang at just over 3k rpm (which suggests big failure like rod bolt), it did go bang.
Just glad we both got out and that its already being repaired.
Comment by Daniel Fegent on September 11, 2012 at 3:55pm Damn I've just seen the pics all over facebook of the flames :S scary stuff guys! Also made me smile to see that its already in a state of rebuilding hehe, never be defeated! Glad noone was hurt guys :)
Comment by bennettracing.co.uk on September 11, 2012 at 12:37pm Nice blog mate, thanks once again for the passenger ride, to be honest I am glad it was me in the car and not some young girl or something as I think they might have panicked.
We handled it like pro's ;-) just a real big shame it took them so long to turn up because to be honest the car could of burnt to the ground had the flames got a hold.
Still, was a great ride in a fast car and a superb day thanks to Forge.
