Fail was a rod bolt that snapped for no reason. Fire then traveled up gear linkage into the car

Was funny and Oww fuck at the same time. Was so lucky to have a pro driver in with me also as it was a simple, hmmm maybe we need to get out. Walked around set fire ext off and we watched the circus turn up and try put it out. Big thanks to Bennett racing for the help they saved the car. It was also a in car fire and we was lucky it was not worse. We will be at snett for sure

wow ok well fairplay for dealing with it how you did guys, very impressed. Your completely right though, calm and collected and shows how you two are true motorsport heroes :D I'd have panicked and done the team america secret signal (arms waving around like a mad man) ;) hehe.

Yeah I was gutted to see this, love that car :(

Dan, flame flashed inside too, no burns though, just smoke inside, but we were that casual about it that as it was coming to a stop, we were like,

'well suppose we had better get out then' haha

No point getting in a hissy in this type of situation otherwise you get caught up getting out

I was gutted for Chris, was loving the drive round and it only went bang at just over 3k rpm (which suggests big failure like rod bolt), it did go bang. 

Just glad we both got out and that its already being repaired.

Damn I've just seen the pics all over facebook of the flames :S scary stuff guys! Also made me smile to see that its already in a state of rebuilding hehe, never be defeated! Glad noone was hurt guys :)

Nice blog mate, thanks once again for the passenger ride, to be honest I am glad it was me in the car and not some young girl or something as I think they might have panicked. 

We handled it like pro's ;-)  just a real big shame it took them so long to turn up because to be honest the car could of burnt to the ground had the flames got a hold. 

Still, was a great ride in a fast car and a superb day thanks to Forge.
