celeb,s after appearing in adverts

I'm one off these people who believe that manufactures should'nt use celebs to sell a product,and its the products that should sell itself,,,i mean if it cant sell itself then it should'nt be on the market in the first place..

a prime example of this is bmw.

,,, bmw doesn't use celebs to sell cars,,, the cars are very successful at selling themselves, and if Tom Cruise was driving one, it wouldnt make me want to go out and but one just because he is paid to look like he's enjoying it.they just use good clever advertising,,to let the car sell itself..

One of the other reasons i dont like - celebs will do anything for money, most would turn up to the opening of a DOOR,, but only if the price is right...but this brings me on to my NEXT question

Well the answer is yes..and here is the first person you may or may not have heard of

PAULA HAMILTON FROM THE GOLF ADVERTS

Paula Hamilton was the face of vw,, in 1987,,,for the changes advert where she hands everything back except from the golf keys

she was born in the U.K

became a succesful model from the back of the vw advert,,

and battled with alcohol and cocaine problems..

and appeared in the 1996 take that song "how deep is your love"

and rumour has it, some begger wrote to vw asking for the ring that was thrown away in the ad,, and they gave it to them

NICK KAMEN THE BLOKE FROM THE LEVI 501 AD

Nick Kamen starred in the most famous Levi advert ever in 1986

when he stripped to his boxers in a launderette.

but after that he became a musician,has had a few albums out and has even had madonna singing backing vocals.. and in 1990 his biggest song came out "i promised myself" which reached no1 in 8 european countries.

and was covered by Dead or Alive and recently by Basshunter.

ANTHONY HEAD FROM THE GOLD BLEND AD FROM 1987-1993

Thats right everyone its Anthony Head from the gold blend ad

he was an actor and got his break from this advert,, and was catapulted to stardom,

he is best known for playing Rupert giles in buffy,, has appeared in numerous films,, and is currently playing on bbc1 as uther pendragon on saturdays prime time show Merlin,,to name just a few...he has even had an album out called "music for elevators" and has done backing vocals for Chris De Burgh on "The Getaway"

"and he also applied for the part of the 8th doctor who"

but lost out to none other than ..Paul Mcgann
