Last weekend saw the Avon Tyres British GT Championship return to the legendary Brands Hatch GP Circuit, on the 10-11th August the picturesque track was filled with epic machinery which took to the grid in a two hour race.
With the 888 Optimum Racing BMW Z4 of Dan Brown and Steve Tandy topping the times in qualifying, 0.3s ahead of the Beechdean AMR Aston Martin V12 Vantage of Johnny Adam and Andrew Howard, starting them on pole position for the Sundays two hour race.
The Saturday gave me a good chance to explore the awesome Grand Prix loop, and find a few spots!
With the Avon Tyres British GT Race about to get underway the Grid was filled with very epic cars and abit of glamour ;)
How about a couple of grid girls?
After a one minute of noise in remembrance of Allan Simonsen was complete, the race got under way and 33 GT cars came tearing down Brabham straight.
The 20 minute pit window then opened, the teams were able to come in and refuel, fit new tyres, and swap drivers over, the second drivers got focused while the pit crews prepared for the car to pit,
Jonny Adam and Andrew Howard took the win in the Beechdean AMR Aston Martin after making an early lead in the race, it was then Duncan Tappy and Gregoire Demoustier which took second place in the Von Ryan Racing Mclaren MP4-12C, with Marco Attard and Oliver Bryant taking third on the podium.
In GT4, Rick Parfitt Jnr and Ryan Ratcliffe were victorious for the third race in a row.
