Engine comes together
im just going to fibreglass in the sides, make up a wheelwell kind of shape out of a mesh and lay FG over it. Doesnt have to be very thick so will be pretty light weight.
Will have to do some experimenting when i get the chance. I have weekends off now which is amazing (have been working 6 day weeks for the last 8 months) so i can finally start to do some work on the car.
Right today was engine build time, it certainly wasnt a smooth experience…

Liam Doran's X-Games gold medal
A few weeks ago I headed down to Brands Hatch for the Monster Energy end of year meeting. It was a cool day as I got to meet many of the people I'll be working with in 2012, talk cars and get to don Liam Doran's X-Games gold medal (Rallycross).

If you're not aware Liam is an epic rallycross driver from the UK - just check out some of the action in the video below. Rallycross is a sprint-stlye race on a mixed surface track. The cars are specially modified and look a…

After way too much turkey, mince-pies and Christmas cake, my attention is finally back onto cars. My friend Tim piper from Juice Photography has just sent me these cheeky teaser shots of his mates Toyota Supra fresh out the bodyshop.
I don't know much about the car, but I'm chasing more info now and…

Ferrari F40 crashed
Last week the world lost another supercar, a Ferrari F40 left the blacktop and collided with trees that lined the road. According to the website 6speedonline the driver was an 80-year-old businessman who lost control of the car on the Swiss/German border. Thankfully the driver escaped the ping with no injuries.

Pistonheads Sunday Service at Goodwood
06.30 and the annoying jangle of Marimba on my iphone brought me suddenly round from my deep slumber. Drunk on sleep, I staggered to the window and the cars were glittering with frost as the street light bounced it ominious orange glow off them. To be honest, it looked cold, it felt cold and I was close to crawling back into the warm in-dented bed I'd just left... However, the car-nut in me kept me up and it wasn't long until the exhaust of the MR2 bounced off the garage walls breaking the…

Received the large carriers today for the Volvo, want to paint them black before I fit them.... before that though I still havn't ordered the larger discs....been hectic at work. All should be fitted in the new year.
The possibly sad news is that the Volvo project may be put on the back burner as I'm looking at buying an Audi Allroad for some winter fun.
That's all for now…

On a cold and wet December day two birds thought they would have a play. One had feathers one had a car, the feathered one did not fly very far. Well it kind of did, about 30ft in the air and landed in the middle of the road lol.
Next came the call. "Darling........ a bloody great pheasant flew out of a bush and I hit it..... oh by the way the door mirror is mullered". Bloody hell here we go 5 days before christmas and no money left. Oh well its a…

Well Needed TLC
Well with the action packed year we’ve had here at FT, the Astra has certainly taken a bit of abuse from tunnel runs / B road Blasts to carrying the marquee/Stand to shows as well as here usual daily driver duties., and to be honest she has shown much resistance to it either.
Though recently I had noticed a bit of noise coming from the tensioner area of the cambelt, as well as Poor MPG and oil that was thinner than water,…
