At 5am I was woken by the bleeping of the house phone which ment we were in the throws of a power cut. How lucks was I or I would have missed it all. Well after looking out of the bedroom window and seeing branches on the road and lots of laying water I…

D Day

Well today was interesting . . . . . . . . it was time to put the car back together after having all the bits sprayed.

Started putting it all back together, i didnt take a picture of this which i wish i did, the headlight washer bottle really doesnt fit with the new arches, this is down to the vent getting in the way.  To solve this i had to cut out a huge section out of it and bond it back together so it would retain water again.

I have now lost about 50% of…

Rally X, Burnouts, and Carbon on the cover

A few weeks ago, Dan Fegent, dropped an epic blog from the European Rally X. Despite the typically English weather, the rain didn't stop the leagues of dedicated petrolheads who made the journey south to the Lydden Hill Raceway.

Lydden Hill is one sick…

Viper Surge Tanks (swirl pots)

A surge tank (or swirl pot) is an important part of any electronic fuel injection system as it stops your engine from starving of fuel.

Under harsh driving fuel is thrown from side to side of a fuel tank and this can leave the fuel pick-up sucking in air rather than fuel.

A surge tank however…

Our visit to Don Garlits Drag racing museum - April 2012

First off let me start by saying that Don Garlits is something of our drag racing hero.  An absolute icon - innovator - and he didn't stand any crap! He is now 80 years old but you wouldn't think it at all.

On the 11th April we had a tour of his museum and garage by Don himself - a real honour and a great day.  We were like kids in a sweetshop!

Here are a few photos…

As the UK was hit by incredible down-pours, Santa Pod, true to form managed to go against the norm and displayed some great British sunshine. It wasn’t just the weather that kept spirits high – the racing on track was tighter than ever as some new faces put pressure on the old guard.

Kart Tracks Need More Dinosaurs

When I was young, Rye House was one of my two favourite Kart tracks. (The other was Fulbeck, if you were interested.) The first corner, Stadium it was called, was epic and required what Duke Nukem would call "BALLS OF STEEL!" The turn is a long sweeping right hander that tightens into a very fast "S" bend. It can be done flat and sideways, which is enormous fun, but not really fast enough on race day. Returning to Rye House after about 15 years away was interesting…

"Cheers Dave, I must admit, you can get a bit spoiled for choice up here at times.  Teesside literally rocks, and you can get super close to the action especially on the National circuit that the BDC uses.Lot's of good spots."
