i can feal a project coming on do you reckon fiberglass would be as light as kevlar? im thinking bonnet boot and doors and lexan or polycarbonate is easley availabe i really like the idea of a mx5

The problem is there not much to chop out once you get it stripped down the most ive seen is just below 800kg

Thanks for taking the time to put the links on and no its not a problem to link to other sites it gives me loads to look at and get ideas from,to be honest there is so much conflicting info about car weights its nice to read something accurate,it does appear that 700kg would be near impossable,is it wrong that im having thoughts about a fiat seicento sporting? there really light as standard just over 700kg very tunable both engine suspension  and brakes according to the forums and dirt cheap if you get the chance let me know what you think.might be a laugh
