And although pricing remains unconfirmed by Toyota South Africa, according to two dealerships, the prices will be as follows:

The Toyota 86, which was co-developed with Subaru's BRZ, is a compact two-door sportscar that features a four-cylinder, 2,0-litre horizontally-opposed (boxer) engine that develops 147 kW at 7 000 r/min and 205 N.m at 6 600. The top speed of this lightweight (around 1 200 kg), rear-wheel drive coupe is said to be just over 220 km/h and the benchmark 0-100 km/h sprint should be completed in around 7,2 seconds.
The 86 is 4 240 mm long, 1 285 mm high and 2 570 mm wide. It features a 53:47 front to rear weight distribution and a low (475 mm) centre of gravity.
The 86 is a vital new product for Toyota, as the Japanese giant attempts to inject some fun into its line-up. Stay tuned for more updates as they happen.
